Hibiscus tiliaceus, also known as Coastal Hibiscus, Sea Hibiscus, or Native Hibiscus, is a fast-growing Australian native shrub or small tree, reaching 3–4.5 m high and 2.5–3.5 m wide. It features large, heart-shaped leaves and bright yellow flowers that age to orange-red, adding vibrant colour to coastal gardens. Ideal for full sun to part shade, it tolerates salt spray, wind, and drought once established. Low-maintenance and hardy, it's perfect for native landscaping, windbreaks, and tropical-style gardens.
